An early 20th century French commode in bleached walnut, the large chest in the Louis XV style with a shaped top with serpentine front and sides and a moulded edge, over two long drawers with extensive and richly cast gilt metal mounts and handles all in the rococo style, with further mounts to the sides, raised on integral cabriole supports, themselves with similar mounts, French, circa 1920.
Condition: Overall very good, the chest is in very good condition with no damage or repairs, it is solid and robust, the drawers run smoothly, the bleached surface gives the piece an appearance of a painted simulated marble finish, there is a small area of discolouration on the edge at the rear left hand side, otherwise it is in generally very good condition and the metal mounts are all present.
