A Chinese Fishbowl or Jardiniere

A late 19th century Chinese fishbowl or jardiniere, the body with enamelled decoration consisting of cherry trees with flowering branches spreading to the rim, and with two panels edged in black each with a figure in a garden setting and with circular vignettes decorated with flowers and mythical beasts, on a bright yellow ground, marked underneath, Chinese or possibly Japanese, circa 1880.

Condition: Very good, the piece is free from cracks or chips or other structural damage, there are signs inside that it has been used as a cache-pot, and the colours are bright with the enamels in good condition.
