A George V cut crystal claret jug with silver mounts.


A George V cut crystal claret jug with silver mounts, the domed hinged lid with a pineapple finial and with a cylindrical collar, with a plain spout and a handle with fluting to the join, on an ovoid cut crystal body with a band of crosshatch cutting over vertical lines with a further crosshatched band around the base and with a star-cut underneath. The silver mounts marked Birmingham 1928 by Alexander Clark & Co Ltd.

Condition: Extremely good, the silver mounts are in excellent condition, the lid closes neatly and the silver is free from marks or scratches, and the marks are clear and legible. The crystal body is in excellent condition with no chips or scratches, and it is nice and clear.

The jug has the capacity for a full bottle of wine.
