A fine late 19th century French gilt brass carriage alarm clock repeater by Brunelot, the oval case with fine leaf and floral engraving, with a half hoop handle over an oval viewing glass to the original British lever silvered platform escapement, a white enamel dial with Roman numerals and Bréguet blued steel hands, and a subsidiary alarm setting dial, the eight day two train movement striking the hours and half hours on a coiled gong, with curved bevelled glass plates to the four sides on a lightly spreading plinth base. The backplate is engraved with identifiers to the hands and alarm arbours in English, and is stamped lower left B in a circle. French, circa 1880.
