A Fine Louis XV Style Kingwood Side Table

This item has been sold.

A fine Second Empire kingwood side table in the Louis XV style, the shaped quarter veneered top with a crossbanded border and within a gilt brass edge over a shaped fitted oak lined drawer with gilt brass lock escutcheon and the original key on slender cabriole supports with gilt brass mounts to integral sabots. French, circa 1860. Key supplied.
Condition: Excellent, the table is robust and stable with no losses to the veneer. The drawer runs smoothly and the lock works. The brass retains a good amount of gilding although there has been some wear to it, commensurate with the age of the table. The whole has a pleasing appearance with good colour and patination.
