A mid 19th century French bedroom or nursing chair, the arched back sweeping around to the armrests and generously padded and buttoned, to a broad stuffover seat with a serpentine front, the whole upholstered in a powder pink cotton damask with a brocade edge and with a twisted rope in pink, white and blue around the arms and back, and raised on turned walnut supports with brass castors, French circa 1860.
Condition: Overall very good, the chair is solid and robust and is comfortable to sit in, there is a small piece of wood missing from one of the back legs, the fabric is in very good condition albeit a little faded but it is free from marks or stains. Overall the chair has an elegant appearance with attractive proportions.
