A George III Cherry Wood Chest of Drawers

£1,850

A George III tall chest of two short and four long drawers in cherry wood.

A George III tall chest of two short and four long drawers in cherry wood, the rectangular top with moulded edge over two short drawers and four long drawers each with gilt brass swan neck and lock escutcheons on a plinth base with bracket feet. English, circa 1780.
Condition: Overall very good, the chest is solid and the drawers run smoothly. Most of the handles appear to be the originals although a couple have had to be replaced. There is a small crack to the side at the base, however this is stable. Overall the chest has a very pleasing warm colour and patina with interesting grain to the timber, redolent of late 18th century country furniture.
