A George III mahogany bookcase, the top with a reeded cornice over a plain frieze and a reeded string course, above a pair of doors with solid panels within reeded borders and turned roundels to the corners, each with a brass lock escutcheon and lock to the right hand side and opening to three adjustable shelves with reeded fronts, on a later plinth base with shaped apron and bracket feet. English, circa 1790. Supplied with a key.

Condition: Overall very good, the bookcase is in excellent condition with no undue marks or scratches, the doors are solid, not veneered, and the lock operates smoothly. Overall it has a lovely colour and fantastic grain, as well as original patina, as one would expect from furniture of the period.
