A George III Domed Penwork Box

A George III hardwood (probably beech) box with a domed cover, decorated all over with penwork, with a rural scene on the cover within a border of black bands and leaves, and with similar decoration to each front including a scene with a castle ruin with a palm tree and a pyramid, lined to the interior with the original green paper. English, circa 1800.

Condition: Overall very good, the box is in good condition with no loose joints or losses, there are some minor blemishes to the surface but not to the detriment of the box, and overall it has a lovely appearance and patina associated with the time.
