A George III Elm and Fruitwood Wine Table

This item has been sold.

A charming George III tripod wine table in elm and fruitwood, the circular turned and dished elm top over a turned tripod with a slender baluster shaft with reeded decoration to a tripod of ridged cabriole legs. English, circa 1770.

Condition: Overall good, the table is in generally good condition and is solid and robust, there is an old crack in the top as well as some small losses to the edge, and it is not exactly circular. The tripod has been braced at some point long ago, there are a few historic worm holes (evidently treated), however the table has a great deal of rustic charm and is quite unusual, and it has a lovely warm colour and patina.
