A George III Mahogany Polescreen


A George III mahogany polescreen or firescreen.

A George III mahogany polescreen or firescreen, the pole with a turned finial and with an oval panel with a silk needlework framed within, and with a gilt brass adjustment to the back, over a cannon barrel tripod with fluted cup on slender arched supports. English, circa 1790.

Condition: Excellent, the piece is in very good condition, with no undue marks, there are some signs of use on the pole as should be expected, the tripod is in good condition with no breaks or repairs, and overall the piece has a lovely colour and appearance. The silk panel has lost some of its colour but is otherwise in good condition.
