A Georgian Oak Side Table

£975

A mid 18th century Georgian side table in oak.

A mid 18th century Georgian side table in oak, the rectangular top inlaid to the centre with a diamond shaped mahogany cartouche and with a shallow moulded edge, over a mahogany crossbanded frieze drawer with oval brass lock escutcheon and ring handles and with a shaped apron below, raised on cabriole supports on pad feet. English, circa 1750.

Condition: Overall good, the table is in excellent structural condition and is solid and robust, the drawer runs well and the handles appear to be the originals. There are historic marks to the top consistent with age and use, however these do not detract from the overall appearance of the piece. Overall the table has nice proportions and a pleasing colour and the lovely patina that can only be acquired with age.
