An impressive gilt brass candelabrum made for electricity, with five branches around a central block and with a cut crystal obelisk above and a carousel of cut crystal drops, and with five richly cast scrolling branches each with a fluted sconce over a drip pan, and a plain painted candle tube and suspended with cut crystal drops, the whole supported on an inverted baluster with spiral fluting and floral swags, on a spreading foot with fluting and acanthus leaf decoration. French, circa 1900.
Condition: Excellent, the candelabrum is in extremely good condition, the crystal drops are all present and free from damage, the gilding is rich and bright and in excellent condition. The piece has been rewired using new braided flex and a new torpedo switch, the bulbholders are recent replacements and take narrow bayonet fitting bulbs (B15).
