After the antique; a mid 19th century Italian bronze ‘Grand Tour’ table sculpture of the Venus de Milo, the well cast full length figure draped with a cloth around her lower half, lacking arms and her left foot, and mounted onto a D shaped rouge marble socle itself on a slate base. Signed to the base of the bronze with an illegible studio mark and Roma, Italian circa 1840.
Condition: Overall very good, the bronze is in excellent condition with no damage or marks or discolouration, the rouge marble base is in good condition, however there is a loss to the slate base, done some time ago (see photo). This is only visible from the back of the sculpture. Overall the piece has a really good appearance, with fine casting respecting the original and an excellent colour and patina.
