A late 19th century Japanese Imari porcelain vase and cover, the cover with a pointed gilt bulbshaped finial over a dome and broad rim, fitted to an inverted baluster shaped vase on a collet foot, the whole decorated with floral motifs, especially chrysanthemums, and with geometric shapes all in cobalt blue and iron reds on a white hard paste porcelain base, marked with a red hieroglyph to the underside, Japanese, circa 1880.
Condition: Excellent, the vase is in very good condition with no chips or cracks to either the body or the cover, the decoration is in excellent condition and the vase stands well, overall it has a great appearance with pleasing form and colour.
