Richard Rhead Simm was born in 1926 and used his natural talent as an artist to paint battle scenes, figures, seascapes and landscapes, using a love of the countryside and fine technique of brushwork to create traditional scenes of charming nostalgia. He also worked for Royal Doulton, painting detailed decoration onto fine china, which informed his own style. He died in 2019.
Condition: Excellent, the painting is in very good condition with no damage or marks, the frame is in excellent condition with no marks or damage, and overall this is a delightful little painting.
