A large late 19th Century French gilt brass carriage alarm clock timepiece, in a Corniche case with a carrying handle over a bevelled rectangular glass to the platform, with bevelled plates to the side and front over a white enamel 2¼” Roman dial with outer minute track, blued steel Breguet hands and a subsidiary alarm dial below, to an eight day timepiece movement with its original lever escapement, alarm function and a bell, the backplate stamped lower left CV in a chamfered poinçon, French circa 1880. Supplied with a winding key.
Condition: Excellent, the clock is in very good condition with no damage to the case, glass panels or the dial, the dial is clear and visible, the movement has been fully serviced and overhauled and the alarm function works properly. Overall the clock has a good, crisp appearance and pleasing finish.
