A late 19th century hip flask with silver plated mounts.


A late 19th century hip flask with silver plated mounts, with a hinged globular cover with bayonet twist action, over a mouth blown glass flask with a leather snakeskin style clad upper section with an oblong cut-out viewing slot, and with a silver plated cap to the lower section with a gilded interior, with the mark James Dixon and Sons. Sheffield, circa 1890.

Condition: Overall very good, the piece is in very good condition, with no cracks or chips to the glass, the plated mounts are in good condition with few signs of use, and the leather cladding is in excellent condition. Overall the piece has a lovely antique, yet highly usable, feel to it.
