A fine late Victorian bracket clock in a mahogany case.


A fine late Victorian bracket clock in a mahogany case, the arched top with moulded edge and decorative gilt brass motif, surmounted by a plinthed dome with a gilt brass acorn finial and with further acorns to each corner, over glazed door with gilt edges to the engraved gilt brass dial with silvered chapter ring having Arabic numerals in black each within a roundel and dotted outer minutes, with a matted inner and blued steel hands to an eight day twin fusee movement striking the hours and half hours on a coiled gong accessed by a door to the back, the case with pierced fret sides with silk linings, and with a decorative cast gilt brass mount over a plinth base with a gilt brass foot. English with an English movement, circa 1890. Supplied with its pendulum and with door and winding keys.

Condition: Excellent, the clock is in very good condition, with minimal wear to the gilding, the numerals on the dial are clear and legible, the case is in good condition and the movement has been fully serviced and overhauled and is in excellent working condition.
