A late Victorian bracket clock in a mahogany case.


A late Victorian bracket clock in a mahogany case, the Georgian style case with an arched top and gilt brass carrying handle, shaped inset panels below and with gilt brass silk lined fishscale pierced side panels and on gilt brass bracket feet, with a cast gilt brass bezel to an 8” cream painted dial with Roman numerals in black and blued steel moon hands, to an eight day two train fusée movement striking the hours and half hours on a gong, with a cylindrical pendulum. English, circa 1890. Supplied with a winding key and with door keys.

Condition: Overall very good, the clock is in very good condition, the case has no issues to the wood, the gilt brass fittings retain some of their gilding, the dial has a few small areas of paint loss but is otherwise original, the movement has been fully serviced and overhauled and is in good working order. Overall the clock has good proportions and is an elegant piece.
