A fine Louis Philippe mantel clock by Raingo Frères, the drumhead clock in a Rococo style gilt bronze case with a cast pineapple finial over fruiting vine around the white enamel 3” dial with Roman numerals and outer minute track and with black steel hands, on a spreading Rococo base with further fruiting vine and cast leaves. The eight day two train silk suspension movement with outside count wheel striking the hours and half hours on a bell, the backplate stamped ‘Raingo Frères Paris’ in a circular mark. French circa 1840. Winding key supplied.
Condition: Excellent; the clock retains its original gilding which is very good and bright, the movement has been fully serviced and overhauled and is in full working condition. The pendulum is a period replacement.
