A mid 19th century giltwood canapé in the Louis XV style, the settee of small proportions with a shaped toprail with floral crest over a cabriolet backrest decorated with foliate motifs, with padded armrests and over a generous stuffover seat on a shaped base, raised on carved cabriole supports, and upholstered in an off-white leather with studded edges. French, circa 1860.
Condition: Overall very good, the sofa is in very good condition and is solid and robust with no damage or loose joints, the leather upholstery is in excellent condition with no marks or damage, the gilding has been professionally refreshed with gold paint, and the sofa is comfortable to sit on and overall has a lovely appearance with elegant proportions.
