A Louis XVI painted overmantel mirror, the frame with double reeded border and cushioned inner with a double spray at halfway, and with applied stars at regular intervals, around an old mercury silvered plate and with a panelled back. French, circa 1780.
Condition: Overall very good, the frame is in good condition with no paint loss, there are traces of gilding around the edge, the plate is an old one and may be the original, it has some foxing and dark marks commensurate with age, however it reflects well. The structure of the mirror is solid.
