A mid 20th century wool and part silk rug.


A mid 20th century wool and part silk rug, with a central rose motif on an off-white ground, and with a surround of semi-geometric floral patterns bracketed by pennant shaped motifs in madder, pale blue and duck egg blue, with a broad border with geometric shapes and guard stripes either side and with cotton fringes. Isfahan, Iran, circa 1970.

Condition: Overall very good, the rug is in excellent condition with no tears, repairs of other damage, there is one small area of discolouration, otherwise the colours are strong and the fringes are both present. The rug has been professionally cleaned.
