A Mid Victorian Wedgwood Cheese Dome

£295

A mid Victorian circular cheese plate and cover in cobalt blue Jasperware by Wedgwood.

A mid Victorian circular cheese plate and cover in cobalt blue Jasperware by Wedgwood, the cover with a round knob with an applied flower over a centre of six stylised leaves and with a band of oak leaves and acorns over a row of dancing neoclassical female figures, on a plate with a band of oak leaves and acorns in two plain lines, marked WEDGWOOD to the underside. English, circa 1870.

Condition: Overall very good, both parts are free from chips or cracks, the applied decoration appears to be all present and correct, there are some small marks to the surface of the dome which would probably wash off, and overall the piece has a delightful appearance. It would also serve very well as a cake cover.
