A New Hall Ceramic Bowl, Jug and Sugar Box

£365

A set of three George III porcelain teawares consisting of a bowl, milk jug and sugar box.

A set of three George III porcelain teawares consisting of a bowl, milk jug and sugar box, all decorated with Chinese inspired ‘Willow’ type patterns in blue and with a broad band of geometric decoration around the edges, with generous gilding to each piece. The jug is a silver shape and the sugar box with a separate cover and simulated handles, and the bowl on a collet foot and with a gilt sprig to the interior covering a firing fault typical of New Hall ceramics. English, circa 1785.

Condition: Overall very good, all three pieces are free from cracks, the jug has a chip around the base which is probably the result of a firing fault, otherwise all three pieces are free from damage. The gilding to each is good with a little wear, commensurate with the age of the set.

Diameter of the bowl = 16 cm (6.25”)
