A Pair of 19th Century Jasperware Jardinieres

£395

A pair of mid 19th century Jasperware porcelain jardinieres.

A pair of mid 19th century Jasperware porcelain jardinieres, each in powder blue with a white interior, and moulded rim over a narrow band of neoclassical double scrolled link chain between fine lines, over a broad band of applied fruiting olive branches, with a line below and on a spreading moulded foot. English, apparently unmarked, circa 1870.

Condition: Overall good, both pieces are in good condition with no cracks, one of the pots has a small chip (possibly as a result of a firing fault) on the foot (see photo) but they are both structurally sound. Both pots have minor surface marks to the body, although the applied Jasper on each is in good condition with no losses, however, as is usual there are some minor, but stable, cracks to the decoration. The interior of one of them has discolouration from having had a plant left in it for some time.
