A pair of early 20th century bookends in Indian teak.


A pair of early 20th century bookends in Indian teak, each formed as a solid carved Indian elephant with bone tusks and toes standing on a book and pushing against another book set at right angles, en contrepartie to one another. British India, circa 1910.

Condition: Excellent, both pieces are in very good condition with no damage or losses, they stand well and have great colour and grain with pleasing patina. The tusks and toes are bone (probably camel), NOT ivory.
