A pair of George III silver salt cellars with blue glass liners.


A pair of George III silver salt cellars with blue glass liners, each of oval form with a beaded edge over pierced gallery sides and an escutcheon, with applied spandrels and leaf swags, and raised on split brackets with ball and claw feet, together with a pair of matching spoons in the Old English pattern with bright cut borders and shell bowls, each piece engraved with a period crest. London, 1777, by Edward Lowe, the spoons by Thomas Wallis.

Condition: Overall very good, each piece is in very good condition with no damage or splits, the liners are probably replacements, both salts and both spoons are free from pitting and corrosion and overall they have the lovely appearance and colour associated with Georgian silver.
