A pair of mid 19th century French gilt bronze candlesticks in the Louis XVI style.


A pair of mid 19th century French gilt bronze candlesticks in the Louis XVI style, each having a detachable nozzle with beaded edge fitting into a fluted sconce over a wreathed band to a tapering fluted shaft with an acanthus leaf footing, raised on a circular spreading foot with beading, ropework and acanthus leaves. French, circa 1860.

Condition: Overall very good, both candlesticks are in good condition with only minor wear to the gilding, there is no evidence of polishing, and they both stand straight. One has a very small patch of verdigris to the base but not significant. The bases are free from dents.
