A Regency library clock timepiece in a mahogany case, the case of smaller proportions surmounted by a gilt brass pineapple finial over a chamfered top with moulded edge and brass line inlay, over a moulded cornice to straight sides each with a gilt brass floral basket handle and ebonised, inlaid corners, the front with brass inlay around the dial and with a string course below with further inlay, over a plinth base with an ebonised gadroon, raised on brass ball feet, the hinged gilt brass bezel with convex glass over a 6” off-white painted Roman dial with outer minute track and blued steel moon hands and marked George Miles London the the centre, to an eight day single fusee movement with an anchor escapement in an ogee shaped backplate, English, circa 1810. Supplied with its pendulum, winding key and door keys.
Condition: Overall very good, the clock is in good condition with no damage, there have been some very old repairs to the top of the case, otherwise it is in good condition, the dial is in good condition and apparently original, the numerals are clear and not worn, the movement has been fully serviced and overhauled and is in excellent working order. The handles to the sides are purely decorative and on no account should these be used to carry the clock. The clock should be lifted carefully from underneath.
