A mid 20th century coffee table in the Regency style, the table formed as a fixed tray on stand, the tray in black lacquer with repeating elaborate gilded foliate and shell motifs around the wide border, and with a line of smaller palmettes around the inner edge and a plain field, raised on an ebonised faux bamboo stand with gilt lines at intervals and outswept feet, united by an X stretcher, English, circa 1950’s.
Condition: Overall very good, the table is in very good condition with no repairs, there have been some small areas of loss of lacquer which have been recoloured, there are a couple of very small marks to the surface of the tray, the gilding is in excellent condition, and overall the table is a stylish interpretation of a classic from the time of the smartest interior designers.
