A silver porringer and cover in the Queen Anne style.


A silver porringer and cover, the piece in the Queen Anne style with a pineapple finial to the cover over spiraling leaves, on the urn shaped circular body with scrolling applied handles and with contrasting acanthus leaves chased into the lower half, on a spreading foot. Birmingham 1973 by Joseph Gloster Ltd and made at their Lion Silver Works at Hockley Hill, Birmingham. The piece bears the Birmingham City mark with the CC to the Anchor, commemorating the bicentennial of the Birmingham Assay Office which opened in August 1773.
Condition: The piece is in excellent condition, with no dents or splits. It has a pleasing colour and appearance.
