A late 19th century gilt brass carriage clock in a gilt brass corniche case with a satin finish, the swing handle over a bevelled oval viewing plate to the silvered and jewelled lever escapement, and with a white enamelled 1.75” dial with Roman numerals and outer minute track and blued steel hands, detailed JW Benson, Ludgate Hill, London to the dial, and with a two train eight day movement striking the hours on a coiled gong, the backplate with the Drocourt maker’s mark. French, circa 1890. Supplied with a key.
Condition: Excellent, the clock is in very good condition with no damage to the case or the dial, the gilding is in excellent original condition and the movement has been fully serviced and overhauled and is in good working order. Unusually this clock does not strike the half hours.
