A William IV work table in rosewood.


A William IV work table in rosewood, the moulded top sliding forward to reveal a sprung secret compartment with a loop catch release and fitted with small pigeon holes; over two drawers with turned handles and a velvet-clad storage drawer beneath, on lyre shaped side supports with open pierced centres and on carved scrolling feet with brass castors, united by a turned stretcher. English, circa 1835.
Condition: Overall very good; the slide and secret compartment operate reasonably smoothly, some losses to the pierced inserts, good colour and grain with pleasing patina.
