An early 19th century oil painting on panel, depicting a scene within a tavern with a man in a hat standing by a table and holding a basket and a mug, with four elderly seated figures playing a game, and with a figure of a woman in the background, and with two dogs, a cat, and with vegetables and baskets lying around. Framed in a gilt swept frame with a gadroon border. English, circa 1830.

Condition: Overall very good, the painting is in excellent condition with no paint loss or apparent damage. The painting has been cleaned by our restorers and, as a result, the colours are fresh. The frame is in very good condition with no losses to the gilding.
