An early 19th century yew and elm draught back Windsor armchair.


An early 19th century yew and elm draught back Windsor armchair, the steam-bent backrail with three uprights either side of the pierced shaped splat with a draught centre, with outswept arms over a shaped elm seat on turned supports unified by an H stretcher. English circa 1830.
Condition: Excellent, the chair is solid and robust, and comfortable in spite of the wooden seat. The timber has excellent patina and colour with the silky texture typical of yew.
