An early 20th century mantel clock.


An early 20th century mantel clock, the lancet shaped clock decorated to the front and sides with gilt chinoiserie lacquer over a dark grey-blue ground, depicting figures in a riverside setting with trees, pagodas and birds, around a silvered bezel to a 5.5” silvered dial with an engine turned centre and with Arabic numerals in black and blued steel Breguet hands, to a French eight day movement striking the hours and half hours on a coiled gong, the case set on a plinth base with compressed silvered feet. English, with a French movement, circa 1900. Supplied with a key and the original pendulum.

Condition: Overall very good, the clock is in good condition with most of the decoration intact and with only minor losses. The movement has been fully serviced and overhauled, and is in good working condition.
