An Early Victorian Barwise Overdoor Dial Clock

£1,950

An early Victorian overdoor dial clock.

An early Victorian overdoor dial clock, the 8” cream painted dial with Roman numerals in black with an outer minute track and black steel club hands, faintly marked to the centre ‘BARWISE LONDON’, with a cast brass bezel and with a richly carved oak case consisting of a wreath of oak leaves with acorns tied underneath with a bow on a simple base, with an eight day fusee timepiece movement inside an oak case with a hanging loop at the top. English, circa 1840.
Condition: Overall very good, the case is in very good condition with great colour and patina, and has a great bold look to it. The dial has some light discolouration and crazing to the paint but this does not detract from the overall appearance. The movement has been fully serviced and overhauled and is in full working order.
