An early Victorian Old Sheffield Plate table lamp, converted from an oil lamp to electricity, the bulbholder fitted to a vase shaped sconce, over a slender baluster shaft with leaves to the top and to a richly scrolling base, over a broad spreading foot in four sections, one with a vacant cartouche in a scrolling frame, and raised on scrolled feet. English, circa 1840.
Condition: Overall very good, the lamp is in very good condition with very little plate wear, it was clearly converted to electricity some time ago but it has been rewired using a new nickel plated bulbholder, braided flex and a new plug fitted with a 3amp fuse.
