A large early 19th century oil painting on canvas, of British ships after a naval battle with ships engaging with each other on a choppy sea, with lifeboats rescuing mariners in the foreground, and with more warships in the background, under a partly cloudy sky. English, circa 1810, and in a contemporary swept and fluted frame.

Condition: Excellent, the painting is in very good condition and has recently been relined and cleaned, and the frame has been restored.
