A late Louis XVI mahogany console deserte, the shaped top with brass edging and inset white marble, over a locking drawer with lions mask handles and brass edge, and with similar dummy drawer fronts to the rounded corners, over a mirrored back with original mercury glass, outswept tapering supports and with a shelf with brass edged concave front. French, circa 1790. Supplied with a key.
Condition: Overall very good, the piece is solid and robust and structurally sound, the marble is the original and all the brass parts are present and original. The lock functions and the mirror, while distressed, is the original. Overall the table has a lovely rich colour and wonderful patina with elegant proportions.
