A William IV Old Sheffield Plate wine coaster, the flared rim with a richly cast and applied border of scrolls, flowers and husk shells, over a slightly fluted side around a turned walnut base with an unmarked silver button engraved with a period crest. English, circa 1830.
Condition: Excellent, the coaster is in very good condition with very little plate wear making it an unusual piece for its age. The crest to the central button is the original, and overall the piece has a wonderful colour and bold appearance.
