A fine and unusual early 19th century table snuffbox, the circular box with pull-off cover in turned and pressed cow horn, with a repeating design of flowers in a lattice pattern, around a ‘bright cut’ style central motif, and with shaped sides, fitted to a turned laburnum base with moulded side and concentric circles underneath. Probably Scottish, circa 1810.
Condition: Excellent, the box is in very good condition with no splits or damage to either cover or base, the two halves fit snuggly and overall the box has a lovely appearance with fine grain to the wood and unusual design.
Diameter = 10 cm (4”)
